Spanish Montessori Learning Centre (SMLC) is the first Spanish Immersion daycare program in the City of Lethbridge.
We opened our doors on September 15, 2008 and have been loving the adventure ever since!
It is our goal to provide a place where children can be exposed mainly to the Spanish language in a fun and educational environment.
We are a daycare alternative for families looking for a Montessori program for the price of regular daycare.
We serve children ages 12months to 6 years. We follow the Montessori Philosophy and Methodology in the program for
Toddlers and Kindergarten (19 months to 6 years old). For infants (12 to 19 months) we provide a loving and safe place
where they will be immersed mainly in the Spanish Language. We offer a variety of programs either full-time
or part-time, including before/after school care, to suit the individual needs of every family.
We believe in the importance of individual and free learning, providing the children with a safe nurturing and
interesting environment so they can discover about themselves others and the world around them.
Montessori education emphasizes learning through hands-on experiences and the use of all five senses, not just by listening,
watching, or reading. Therefore, our focus is to give children opportunities to do every day practical activities that will help
them develop their sensory, motor, emotional, language, social and problem-solving skills.

The Spanish Montessori Learning Centre (SMLC) is an accredited instituition that meets all Alberta Child Care Accreditation Standards.
​
We provide a personalized education under the Childcare Department's requirements, ensuring that the teachers per
children ratio is always met and the length of time of daily classes is appropriate given the current Alberta laws.
​
Our highly qualified staff are certified in First Aid, CPR training, Food Safety, and have all completed
the Montessori Training and Early Education Education, thus meeting all educational requirements.
​
We offer a unique Spanish Immersion program from children aged 12 months - 6 years that will allow your
child to learn bilingualism at an astonishing rate, while still having fun!
